Three friends, one mission: find the best burger in San Francisco. Every burger is independently rated across three dimensions by each rater. No compromises, no shortcuts, no sponsored reviews.

Anthony

Anthony

The patty perfectionist. Anthony obsesses over meat quality, cook temperature, and seasoning balance. If the patty isn't right, nothing else matters.

Stu

Stu

The architecture critic. Stu evaluates how every element works together — the bun-to-meat ratio, the structural integrity, the way condiments complement rather than overpower.

Jason

Jason

The essence hunter. Jason chases the X-factor — creativity, vibe, that indefinable quality that makes a burger memorable. A great burger tells a story.

How We Rate

Every burger is rated on a 0–5 scale across three dimensions. Each of the three raters scores independently. The final score is the average of all three raters' composite scores.

Meat

Quality of the patty — flavor, cook, seasoning, texture. This is the foundation. A 5.0 means the patty alone would be worth ordering.

Bun

The bun itself and how it complements the whole burger. Texture, toast, structural integrity, flavor contribution. A great bun disappears — a bad one ruins everything.

Essence

The X-factor. Creativity, accoutrements, how it all comes together. A great essence score can elevate an otherwise average burger. This is where personality lives.

Score Scale
